Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar


Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar is the co-founder of the Happiness Studies Academy, as well as the creator and instructor of the Certificate in Happiness Studies.  After graduating from Harvard with a BA in Philosophy and Psychology and a PhD in Organizational Behavior, he taught two of the most popular courses in Harvard’s history: Positive Psychology and The Psychology of Leadership.


Tal consults and lectures around the world to executives in multi-national corporations, the general public, and at-risk populations.  Topics include leadership, education, ethics, happiness, innovation, self-esteem, resilience, goal setting, and mindfulness. He is the author of the international best sellers Happier, Being Happy, Choose the Life You Want, and The Joy of Leadership which have been translated into more than 25 languages.  In addition to establishing The Happiness Studies Academy, he is also the co-founder of Potentialife and Happier.TV.


An avid sportsman, Tal won the U.S. Intercollegiate and Israeli National squash championships.  Today, for exercise, he swims, plays basketball, and dances.  He is a certified yoga instructor whose work bridges East and West, ancient wisdom and modern technology, science and art.
