Conscious Capitalism Field Guide: Tools for Transforming Your Organization by Raj Sisodia, Timothy Henry & Thomas Eckschmith You subscribe to the basic idea that business can do more than make money, but you're not sure how to act on that conviction or how to share it with the rest of your organization. The Conscious Capitalism Field Guide, gives you the tools for sharing and implementing the principles of higher purpose and conscious business throughout your organization. This practical guide provides hands-on materials--the same tools used in companies such as Whole Foods Market, Southwest Airlines, Life is Good, The Container Store, Barry-Wehmiller, Zappos, and many others--that you can use on your own, with your team, or with others throughout your organization to build conscious leadership and practices into your business. Organized according to the four core principles (higher purpose, stakeholder orientation, conscious leadership, and conscious culture) of Conscious Capitalism, the book provides exercises, worksheets, checklists, and instructions--for use both individually and with teams--as well as advice, examples, and real-life stories to help you apply these ideas and make them come alive in your organization.

Generational Affiliation as a Component of Culture: Focus Group Perspectives of Three Generational Cohorts (University of Arkansas) The purpose of this study was to explore the multicultural elements related to generational affiliation. Much of current generational literature is anecdotal and does not empirically explore the culture of each generation. A constructivist ground theory approach was applied to the study of three generational cohorts (Baby Boomers, Generation Xers, and Millennials) using focus groups to (a) explore the values, beliefs, and worldview inherent to each generation, and (b) extend theory on multiculturalism Data from nine focus groups, three for each generational cohort, were analyzed for key themes within each generational cohort. Results indicated that, in keeping with the American Counseling Association's call for counselors to be multiculturally competent, generational culture should be incorporated into counselor training and continued education.

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring No one is indifferent to the power of the four seasons and their annual cycle of birth, growth and decline. Not even the two monks who share solitude, on a lake surrounded by mountains. Just like the seasons, each aspect of their lives is introduced with an intensity that leads to both great spirituality and tragedy. They are also unable to escape the wheel of life, the desires, sufferings and passions that surround each of us. Through the watchful eyes of the old monk we see the young monk's experience of loss of innocence, his awakening to love when a woman enters his life, the lethal power of jealousy and obsession, the price of forgiveness, the clarification of experiences. Just as the seasons will continue to change until the end of time, in the indecision between the now and the eternal, solitude will always be a home for the spirit.

Move the Body, Heal the Mind, Overcome Anxiety, Depression, and Dementia and Improve Focus, Creativity, and Sleep by Jennifer Heisz Jennifer Heisz shares paradigm-shifting research on how exercise affects the brain, finding that intervals of intense workouts, or even leisurely walks, help stop depression and dementia, lessen anxiety and ADHD, and encourage better sleep, creativity, and resilience. Physical inactivity is the greatest risk factor contributing to dementia and anxiety - it’s as much a factor as genetics. In addition, exercise’s anti-inflammatory properties make it the most effective treatment strategy for those who are depressed and don’t respond to anti-depressants. The book focuses on overcoming inertia; using exercise to help fight addictions; how we can improve our memory with fitness even as we age; and, importantly, how exercise can help us sleep better, improve focus, and be more creative. Included are easy-to-use plans for unique aerobic and resistance workouts designed to strengthen the brain.
